Curious about breathwork? Embrace the innate wisdom of your psyche through conscious, connected breathing.

My name is Yen. I am a mother, an Australian-born Chinese wounded healer, clinical psychologist and RBM-practitioner-in-training. I feel honoured to hold space for others also seeking wholehearted-living and am excited to share my passion for Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) with the gifts of Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery (RBM).

About Me

As a highly sensitive person, I have been deeply fascinated with the human experience - from what unites us in our pain, sorrow, joy and wonder; to what gives rise to our unique individual experiences; what creates our interconnectedness; and what separates us from our authentic being, relationships and deepest desires.

Having received a calling to become a clinical psychologist at 16-years of age, I have dedicated my professional career to the science and art of being a psychotherapist, while navigating the complexities of my own personal journey as a dedicated daughter, passionate mother, closet creative, confused introvert, anxious perfectionist, freedom-fighting rebel and existential philosopher amongst many identities.

I am blessed to have earned security with the support of family, friends and wonderful mentors - empowered women - who have grounded me in Self and changed the trajectory of my life and the lives of my children.

My journey into Self discovery has been amplified by the power of Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery (RBM), which has inspired my desire to share both with the world. As such, I am completing an International Certificate In Breathwork Mastery under the guidance of Eleanor Mann at The School of Breathwork (please visit https://theschoolofbreathwork.com/ for more information).

What is Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery (RBM)?

At its core, Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery (RBM) is about coming home to yourself — through the power of your breath.

RBM is a gentle yet transformative practice that invites you to lean into vulnerability, release old emotional patterns, and reconnect with the parts of you that you’ve hidden, numbed, or quieted. Using conscious connected breathing, this work creates space to process deep-rooted beliefs, past experiences, and unspoken emotions — all without judgment, only compassion.

This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering that you were never broken.

Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery honours the courage it takes to be seen, to feel fully, and to step into a more wholehearted life. Whether you're navigating personal healing, emotional blocks or a desire to deepen your self-awareness, this practice meets you where you are — and gently guides you toward greater freedom, presence, and Self-trust.

Because when we breathe with intention, we breathe in possibility.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful, compassionate approach to healing that invites us to turn toward ourselves — not with judgment, but with curiosity and courage.

IFS teaches that we’re not one single 'self', but a dynamic system of 'parts' — each with its own story, emotions, and protective strategies. Some parts carry pain or shame from past experiences. Others work hard to keep us safe, often in ways that can feel exhausting or overwhelming. But every part of us has a positive intention — even if their methods are outdated or misunderstood.

The goal of IFS isn’t to fix or get rid of parts — it’s about coming home to the 9C's of Self beneath the layers of stress, roles, and expectations of 'parts'. From the centered place of Self, we can listen deeply, offer care, and create inner harmony with:

  1. Calm – A steady inner stillness, even when life feels overwhelming.

  2. Curiousity – A gentle interest in what’s going on inside, without jumping to judgment.

  3. Compassion – A heartfelt kindness toward our own struggles and the pain of others.

  4. Confidence – A quiet trust in ourselves — not arrogance, but deep self-knowing.

  5. Courage – The willingness to face hard truths and tender emotions with openness.

  6. Clarity – Seeing things clearly, without the fog of fear or old stories.

  7. Connection – A sense of belonging — to ourselves, to others, and to something greater.

  8. Creativity – Accessing new possibilities, solutions, and ways of being.

  9. Choice – The freedom to respond to life, not just react — to move with intention rather than from old patterns.

IFS helps you reconnect with the core of Self and Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery (RBM) uses the body and breath to embody Self-leadership with presence, peace, and purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions

RBM is a conscious, connected breathing technique designed to release suppressed emotions, integrate past experiences, and promote deep healing. It facilitates emotional clarity, nervous system regulation, and expanded self-awareness.

While generally safe, some clients with a history of trauma, dissociation, or specific medical conditions (such as cardiovascular issues, pulmonary conditions, epilepsy, or pregnancy, severe PTSD or dissociation) should approach RBM with caution. It is essential to inform your facilitator if you have any of these conditions and seek the advice of your medical practitioner/s before participating in an RBM session.

If you have any concerns about your physical, mental, or emotional health, it is always a good idea to seek medical advice. Please ensure you follow any advice given by your treating health professional/s.

Pre-Session:

  • Sessions begin with a grounding check-in, time for reflection and clarification on your intentions for the session.

  • You'll receive guidance on the breathing technique and have time to ask questions.

  • You remain clothed and lie down comfortably on a mat with optional blankets, eye mask etc.

During the Breathwork Journey (60–90 min):

  • You’ll use a conscious connected breath: an open, circular inhale and relaxed exhale.

  • This breath can unlock physical sensations, emotional release, or insights.

  • You might experience:

    • Tingling, temperature shifts

    • Muscle tightness or movement

    • Emotional waves (tears, laughter, joy, grief)

    • Visuals, memories, or altered states of awareness

    • A sense of deep stillness or connection

All responses are normal. You are encouraged to stay curious and compassionate with whatever arises.

After the Session:

  • You will be given space to integrate your experience through quiet rest, journaling and/or sharing.

  • Grounding practices help you reconnect to the present moment.

  • Hydration, light nourishment and gentle movement will be encouraged.

A full RBM session typically last between 2.5 - 3 hours. Sessions begin with intention setting and guidance, followed by a 60-90 minute breathwork practice, and concludes with integration and reflection.

Unlike other breathwork styles such as Holotropic Breathwork or Wim Hof Method, RRBM emphasises a gentle, continuous breath without force or hyperventilation. It focuses on emotional release, nervous system regulation, and deep integration rather than intense catharsis or physiological resilience.

Yes, RBM can be effectively guided online, provided that clients have a safe, quiet space and are adequately prepared. Online sessions may require additional preparation, including grounding techniques and post-session integration support.
